Cross-Compiling Qtopia Applications for Zaurus

Setting up your development environment

Install the necessary RPMs (RedHat, Fedora, SuSE, Mandrake, etc.) or use "alien" (RPM conversion routine) to install them on Slackware or Debian.

binutils-cross-arm-2.11.2-0.i386.rpm (Binary utilities for ARM)
gcc-cross-sa1100-2.95.2-0.i386.rpm (GNU C++ compiler for ARM)
glibc-arm-2.2.2-0.i386.rpm (GNU C libraries for ARM)
linux-headers-arm-sa1100-2.4.6-3.i386.rpm (Linux headers for ARM)
qtopia-free-1.7.0-2rh9.i386.rpm (Trolltech Qtopia SDK)
Note: GCC 2.96 is required to compile ARM binaries, so it also must be included in the RPMs list (Found on disk 3 of Fedora Core 2):
compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.126.i386.rpm
compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.126.i386.rpm
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.126.i386.rpm
compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.126.i386.rpm
Note: If you have an older Zaurus ROM, you may need to install the following IPK to run applications compiled with the Qtopia 1.7 SDK:
qpe-libqtopia_1.6.0-13_arm.ipk

Install the rpms using the command rpm -Uvh *.rpm, and the ARM tools will be installed in /opt/Embedix/ and the Qtopia tools will be installed in /opt/Qtopia/. Help documentation can be found on the following websites:
