Presenter: Michael Schultheiss

Michael Schultheiss will be giving a presentation on Samba 4, the latest version of the standard Windows interoperability suite of programs for Linux and Unix.

Samba is Free Software licensed under the GNU General Public License, the Samba project is a member of the Software Freedom Conservancy.

Since 1992, Samba has provided secure, stable and fast file and print services for all clients using the SMB/CIFS protocol, such as all versions of DOS and Windows, OS/2, Linux and many others.

Presenter: Bernie Hoefer
As a system administrator for Mid-continent Independent Systems Operator, CINLUG member Bernie Hoefer is helping bring the company's JBoss EAP installations under the management of Red Hat's JBoss Operations Network (JON) product. In August's presentation, he will demo a JON installation then introduce some of JON's capabilities to monitor JBoss servers and deploy code to them. Mike Dawson of the Indianapolis-based Infrastructure as a Service startup Cloudapt, LLC will present an introduction to OpenStack entitled "Building a Massively Scalable OpenStack Cloud".

Mike will cover topics including:

  • Hardware and Software Architecture
  • Massively scalable storage and the IOPS challenge
  • Networking (SDN and Merchant Silicon)
