August CINLUG Meeting — ZoneMinder DVR

Join us at the next Central INdiana Linux User Group (CINLUG) meeting for an insightful demonstration of Doug Meyer1‘s home-brew ZoneMinder DVR camera recording system.

Operating on a solid foundation of Linux and BSD kernels, Doug will showcase how he integrates various open-source components to create a secure, easy to use surveillance solution. Discover firsthand how low-cost hardware and open-source frameworks combine to deliver a reliable platform for managing virtualized resources, offering practical insights into leveraging community-developed technologies for everyday applications in network environments.

The meeting will begin at 18:30 (6:30 PM) EDT on Wednesday, August 7th.

CINLUG thanks Moser Consulting for hosting our meetings at their facility2. (There will be a phone number at the entrance to call to be let into the building.) The meeting will be simultaneously broadcast over this Jitsi Meet URL3 for those who cannot attend in person. (Though in-person attendance is encouraged.)

CINLUG meetings are the 1st Wednesday of every month. Please be sure to block that night off in your calendar to keep it available! Tentative upcoming topics are:

  • September: NixOS
  • Sometime this fall:
    • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure Software
    • RHELevant Security Practices
