October CINLUG Meeting — Demystifying Linux High-Availability Clustering

Linux High-Availability (HA) clusters are still a business critical component of the technology landscape for many organizations large and small.  Despite this technology having been around nearly as long as the Linux Kernel itself, it is often shrouded in mystery.  As a result, it is regarded as a complex, mysterious, and misunderstood piece of the IT infrastructure.

Jonathan Buckley1‘s talk is intended to be an interactive discussion, during which we will demystify the concepts of Linux clustering and HA, as well as the technologies that make it possible.  By the end of this discussion, most attendees will be able to walk away with a solid grasp of what Linux clustering and HA is, how it works, and be able to speak accurately and intelligently about the technology.

Central INdiana Linux Group’s meeting will begin at 18:30 (6:30 PM) EDT on Wednesday, October 2nd.

CINLUG thanks Moser Consulting for hosting our meetings at their facility2.  (There will be a phone number at the entrance to call to be let into the building.)  The meeting will be simultaneously broadcast over this Jitsi Meet URL for those who cannot attend in person.  (Though in-person attendance is encouraged.)

CINLUG meetings are the 1st Wednesday of every month, so please block that night off in your calendar to keep it available! Tentative upcoming topics are:

  • November: Godot Engine Video Game Development
  • Sometime this winter:
    • RHELevant Security Practices
    • Defend Yourself With Red Hat Security
