Responsible for performing systems administration activities in
support of Linux operating systems, including the lifecycle
management of the physical server and virtualization infrastructure
as well as any applicable software. Collaborate across the
organization to ensure business needs are met through efficient and
reliable use of server technologies. Ensure system security and
compliance through sound process, automation and best practices.


* Assist in the daily management of 400+ Linux systems to meet
business needs
* Effectively manage virtualization resources to maximize
* Develop server automation solutions using a mix of UNIX shell
scripting, Powershell, SCCM, SCOM, Puppet and other automation
* Provide performance analysis, installation and tuning of the
infrastructure including hardware, operating systems and
applications to ensure optimization
* Conduct timely and accurate upgrades, patches, clustering,
support, and configuration management in accordance with
change and release management processes
* Develop server standards and ensure they are maintained and
adhered to meet compliance and business needs
* Lead change initiatives and process improvements to make a
positive impact for the business
* Document and maintain system administration processes and
procedures to meet business requirements
* Work effectively and transparently with cross-functional
operations support teams and customers of the Server
Administration team
* Think creatively and independently to troubleshoot and devise
solutions to solve complex problems
* Design and implement enterprise server solutions that meet
business requirements and align with defined strategies and
compliance requirements
* Coach and mentor team members to ensure adequate training and
knowledge sharing
* Support installation of third-party products to meet business
* Review hardware reporting and coordinate repairs to ensure
business continuity
* Manage CIP and SOC1 compliance - translate requirements and
validate processes, etc. in order to remain in compliance
* Participate in on-call rotation as necessary


* Bachelor's degree in a technical field, (or 8 years relevant
work experience equivalency, required)
* At least four years of related Information Technology
experience required
* Three+ years of experience in Linux technologies

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and


* Strong scripting and automation capabilities
* Knowledge of IT security best practices
* Technical capabilities in the IT infrastructure design space
* Technical skills in multiple IT disciplines
* Core Linux, Windows and IT technologies: Active Directory,
DNS, Network file sharing, server OS deployment and
configuration, virtualization, system hardening, and security
patch management
* VMWare and associated virtualization products.
* Knowledge of server hardware architecture; HP ProLiant and
Cisco UCS preferred
* Experience deploying and supporting private cloud
infrastructure a plusThrives in an iterative environment where
there are many moving parts
* Ability to create, socialize and own metrics demonstrating
status and performance
